On Saturday, as Teresa and I set out on the two-and-a-half hour drive from our home in Virgin, Utah to attend the Grammy’s in Las Vegas, I found myself already consumed by what I might write for this week’s BOOST. I kept these thoughts to myself because I wanted this trip to be fun. My goal was to stay positive but my mind was not cooperating.
Thank for taking us along on your journey. It seems that the way to a man's heart is often through the ears. Your beautiful photo of your granddaughter was a wonderful summation.
We were more or less neighbors back in the day, Hal. We lived next door to the Cameron’s. Brent, Daryl, Scott and Todd. I believe you were closer in age to Scott but maybe not. I attended East as you did. I appreciated reading your comments on the Grammy’s but that is as close as I think I want to be. I’m not a huge celebrity fan these days. Glad to see you are well. What an extraordinary encapsulation of an urban and culture shock experience! This, I believe, is something we often strive for, to make our accustomed surroundings exotic and energizing. (Alliteration abounds, apologies)
I am so pleased your reaction to the Grammys was so close to mine. Jon Batiste has been a favorite of mine ever since he played a flawless accompaniment to Yo Yo Ma's "The Swan" on the Late Show FROM MEMORY! I agree with your review of the other performances.
Thanks for this wonderful account, Hal. I could have no better view of the Grammys. Feeling that yearning for peace over here in Estonia, where we are being digital nomads. We picked a year! <3

I worked for he Grammies for one horrilble year in the late 1980's. As for the event, my only comment is that music is not a bowling tournament.

Wonderful observations from such a learned couple. Our genre is safe in both your capable hands. BR
It was clear to me since Jr High School, that music was going to be your LIFE!
